LUC JASMIN FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE
ABOUT LUC
My parents came here from Haiti with a simple truth they taught me early. "Focus on your faith and your community, and the rest will follow."
Growing up, I saw the systems were not built for families like mine. I also saw how people lift people up. That belief runs through every organization I have built. Businesses and nonprofits that put people first. That have employed many residents in Spokane. That prove you can do well by doing right.
When I saw families in Spokane struggling to find affordable childcare, when I saw gaps in public safety and community services, I didn’t wait for someone else to fix it. I organized. I brought parents, educators, and local leaders to the same table. And together, we built solutions.
That work led to co-founding the Jasmin Group, Parkview Early Learning Center, Northeast Youth & Family Services, and the Washington Childcare Centers Association. These are organizations that serve working families and create good-paying local jobs. Because I believe when our neighbors thrive, our entire community rises.
I’ve chaired the Police Ombuds Commission and the Neighborhood Council. I’ve helped build systems that actually work for people, not just paperwork and press releases, but real accountability and real results.
For the past four years, I’ve represented Eastern Washington under Governor Inslee and now Governor Ferguson. I’ve been in the rooms where the decisions get made. I’ve learned how to cut through bureaucracy, push past political excuses, and deliver. I know how power works, and I know how to make it work for Spokane.
Now I am running for State Representative to bring that experience, that policy expertise, and that commitment to listening back home. To make sure our state systems actually meet the needs of Spokane families. To bring the most resources back to the people who raised me, who believed in me, who taught me that community is everything.
